Later, enjoy a delicious Noodle Banquet for lunch, featuring noodles so thin they say you can thread a needle with them.
Afternoon: A Taste of Old Langzhong
Arrive in the enchanting Langzhong Ancient City. Your first stop is a moment of pure relaxation. Sip on a traditional bowl of gaiwan tea under the shade of two 200-year-old locust trees, snacking on sunflower seeds, peanuts, and famous century-old Muling pastries.
Evening: The Magic of Shadow Puppetry
Step into the Wang Shadow Puppet Museum. Explore the collection of intricate puppets, watch a captivating live performance, and then get a chance to manipulate the puppets yourself behind the screen. After the show, the evening is yours. Wander the ancient streets at your own pace.
Insider Tip: For a magical view, take a stroll from the central Zhongtian Tower to Huaguang Tower by the Jialing River. The ancient city lit up at night is a photographer's dream.
Day 2: Live Like a Farmer & Celebrate the New Year

This is your chance to experience rural life firsthand. Pick fresh fruit (1kg included!), dig for wild vegetables, harvest seasonal greens, pound rice, and grind tofu in a traditional stone mill.
Afternoon: Cook & Connect
Using the ingredients you've gathered, it's time to cook your own farmhouse meal over a wood-fired stove. After lunch, enjoy a gentle countryside walk with a local villager. Later, we arrive at a traditional farmhouse, once featured on CCTV's Spring Festival program. Here, you are welcomed like family with red scarves and a warm courtyard tea featuring local snacks.
Evening: The Grand Celebration
In the birthplace of Chinese New Year, the festivities begin! Make dumplings, write and paste Spring Festival couplets, paint New Year pictures, cut paper window decorations, and craft lanterns. For the New Year's Eve Dinner, we share a grand Steamed Dish Feast with local elders, listening to their stories. Keep an eye out for the "Spring Festival Old Man," who hands out red envelopes (hongbao) for good luck! The night culminates in a spectacular display of fireworks and firecrackers in the courtyard.
Day 3: History, Flavors & a Farewell View

Morning: A Walk Through Imperial History
Start your day experiencing local life at the Zhuangyuan Street Morning Market. Then, dive into Langzhong's rich history with a guided tour of its most significant sites:
Sichuan Imperial Examination Hall: The best-preserved科举 exam hall in China.
Han Huanhou Temple: A key site of Three Kingdoms history, dedicated to the legendary warrior Zhang Fei.
Chuanbei Dao Shu: The ancient "city government" office from the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Wen Miao (Confucian Temple): A serene space dedicated to Confucius.
Afternoon: Towers & A Panoramic View
Ascend Zhongtian Tower, the ancient city's geographic and Feng Shui center, for a 360-degree view of the unique "chessboard" layout of tiled roofs. Then, climb Huaguang Tower, known as the "First Tower of Langyuan," for a stunning vista of the Jialing River curving around the ancient city walls. For lunch, enjoy a local favorite at the beloved 15-year-old Liu's Fangsu Guokui—crispy stuffed pancakes and savory Zhangfei beef noodles.
Final View & Return to Chengdu
Before heading back, we make one last stop: the Ming Dynasty White Pagoda atop the hill across the river. From here, you'll capture the perfect panoramic photo of the entire Langzhong Ancient City. We then transfer you back to Chengdu, where our journey together ends.
